A lecture on Actuarial Science was organised in Salesian College Siliguri Campus on 22 August 2017. The objective behind the session was to make the students aware of the possibilities in Actuarial Science. Many are unaware of the fact that India has a large shortage of Actuary; this subject has tremendous career potential. The speaker informed the students about the need to have good statistical and economics background in order to be an Actuary. The session was made very interesting with real life experience of Mr. Sarogi. The students came up with questions which was take up by the speaker and elaborately answered.
The lecture was organised in collaboration with Buddy Quest, Siliguri. The session started in the A.V. Hall at 10:20 am. Students from the departments of Management and commerce were the participants. The speaker Mr. Saket Sarogi is the Career Ambassador of Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, UK. He is a Senior Actuarial Analyst in one of the world's best pension valuation company Mercer, besides being the founder of S-CUBE Tutorials, Actuarial education provider in Kolkata. The session ended with a vote of thanks by Mr. Anirban Ghosh, Faculty, Department of Management.
